Call for Cleaner Streets
The East Marsh faces a persistent problem: litter and fly tipping. But amidst the eyesore, there's a beacon of hope - the dedicated efforts of the Liberal Democrat team.

Led by Loyd Emmerson, Nicola Aisthorpe, and Steve Beasant, the East Marsh Lib Dem team have rolled up their sleeves to tackle the cleanliness crisis head-on. Their commitment is not just lip service; it's evident in their tireless work to keep our streets clean.

Campaigner Loyd Emmerson said, "I am passionate about our local environment, and I know that Nicola and Steve care for our area - that is why I have joined them. I want to see a cleaner and greener East Marsh."

“While out in the ward litter picking, I am amazed at the amount of support that we receive. Residents appreciate our efforts to make the East Marsh litter free. We know it is not fair that our area is in this mess and that is why are out litter picking regularly.”

But it's not just about picking up litter. The scourge of fly tipping continues to plague our streets, and the Liberal Democrats refuse to turn a blind eye. The Lib Dem team are adamant that enough is enough.

Cllr Nicola Aisthorpe said, "Fly tipping is unacceptable and should not be allowed to happen. I tirelessly raises this issue at council meetings, calling for stronger enforcement and political leadership.

Cllr Steve Beasant added, "When the council was under Lib Dem control, our area was much cleaner and greener. Enforcement was stronger under the Lib Dems. We introduced the Community Pride service, but this was dismantled by Labour. Labour also introduced fortnightly household waste collections, which have been a disaster.

The Liberal Democrats offer a proven track record of effective action and genuine concern for our community. With our joint efforts and commitment, we can reclaim our streets from litter and fly tipping and build a cleaner, greener future for all.
