Call for Affordable Housing

The demolition of social housing in our area has caused a serious shortage of affordable homes. This has left many young people with no choice but to move away to find somewhere affordable to live. As a result, they're separated from their families and struggle to build independent lives close to home.

 

This housing crisis is tearing families apart, dividing communities, and weakening our social connections. If our young people continue to leave in search of affordable housing, our community will lose its vibrancy and diversity.

To tackle this crisis, urgent action is needed. The council must focus on keeping existing social housing and building more affordable homes on brownfield sites. We also need new rules to make sure that new buildings include affordable housing options. By doing this, we can create a fairer and more inclusive community for everyone.
