Action on Crime
Lib Dem Brian Barrett is stepping forward to address the urgent issue of crime and safety in Heneage.
For too long, Heneage has been ignored by both Labour and Conservatives.
Brian said, "The statistics speak for themselves - from January to December 2023, 1,919 individual crimes were reported in Heneage, and – even more alarmingly – the most reported crimes were violent and sexual offences. Many of you have told me that you and your families do not feel safe, especially at night, and that antisocial behaviour in our public spaces is now commonplace."
"Residents tell me they very rarely see a police officer, and when they report issues to the police, they seem to take no action. I am concerned for people's safety".
Against this backdrop of escalating concerns, Brian highlights the glaring lack of response from Labour and Conservative councillors.
But Lib Dem Brian doesn't stop at words alone. He is committed to taking tangible action to address the pressing issue of crime and safety in Heneage. As part of his proactive approach, Brian pledges to:
1. Work closely with law enforcement agencies to increase police presence in Heneage, especially during high-crime hours.
2. Advocate for stronger measures at NELC to address antisocial behaviour in public spaces, ensuring that residents feel safe and secure in their communities.
3. Collaborate with local organisations and community groups to implement crime prevention initiatives and support programs for at-risk youth and vulnerable people.
4. Hold regular ward surgeries to hear directly from residents about their concerns and priorities for improving safety in Heneage.
It's time for real change, and Liberal Democrat Brian Barrett is leading the charge towards a safer, more secure Heneage for all.
